This week I was delighted to learn that another documentary about Peruvian food was awarded a prize. “Mistura, The Power of Food” is a short film about the Mistura food festival in Peru and it received Best Short Foreign Documentary at the International Family Film Festival in Hollywood, CA.
In my opinion, it’s no exaggeration when The Wall Street Journal wrote that “the greatest food in the world might be in Peru” in their Mistura 2010 photo essay and article. Mistura was founded 3 years ago by Gaston Acurio and provides an opportunity for chefs from all over Peru to serve their dishes to the masses.
Mistura 2011 will be from September 9 to 18, and rumor has it that Pisco Trail will be there to cover the event with live updates. Until then, we have many recipes to cover to get us ready for the festival of a lifetime.
